1. Smart Growth is people, business, and environmentally friendly development. As a Planning Commissioner, I was proud to approve our award winning, environmentally friendly, Transit Maintenance Facility. The City is beginning to encourage development of the people-friendly, walkable neighborhoods that those of us over 50 will remember from our childhoods. This is the new approach to building and developers are starting to embrace it.

3. •continue to promote the use of sustainable building techniques in both public and private projects.
   

4. •work on other aspects of smart growth, including creation of options for housing and transportation, along with protection of our environment.
   

5. •promote trails, dedicated bike lanes and other bicycle and pedestrian-friendly measures to connect all the neighborhoods in our city.
