Gets McLean’s Endorsement

Santa Clarita – Planning Commissioner Diane Trautman kicked off her 2008 run for City Council today, receiving a public endorsement from Councilmember and immediate past Mayor Marsha McLean before filing her official papers with the city clerk.

“Diane is a master at looking deeply into planning documents and EIR’s which is necessary to make good planning decisions.  Diane will bring her experience on the Planning Commission to the Council and will provide equal representation for residents and businesses,” stated Councilmember McLean.

Several elected officials who were unable to attend presented their endorsements via prepared statements. They include Planning Commissioner Michael Berger and Suzan Solomon, a member of the Newhall School District’s governing board and past president of the 34th District PTA. Solomon, gives Trautman her unequivocal support, stating, “Diane will secure the future for today’s Santa Clarita and for generations to come.”

Also speaking at the event was Rabbi Mark Blazer, who said, “I respect her integrity, I admire her courage, and I believe in her vision for Santa Clarita. Diane is one who will stick by her beliefs and do what’s right for her community.”

Senior Chris Bates declared, “I’m supporting Diane because she’s honest and she is what she says and she understands the problems that seniors have.”

Trautman spoke for six and a half minutes, her speech interrupted nine times by applause from an enthusiastic crowd of almost 30 people at the main entrance to City Hall.
