top priorities
Reduce Traffic Congestion
We must implement strategies to improve local mass transit and create safe and efficient roadways. We cannot rely on business as usual.
Make Neighborhoods Safe
I will work diligently to rebuild and expand sheriff's facilities, to bring another hospital into our valley, and to include public safety considerations in all development plans, making neighborhoods safe tomorrow by planning safe communities today.
Protect Our Seniors and Support Working Families
I support the creation of new affordable housing for seniors in our city and I am committed to providing housing for working families to support the growth of our local businesses.
Preserve Open Space and the Environment for Our Children
I will work to expand the greenbelt around our community, protect sensitive habitat, and promote sustainable, energy-efficient building policies and practices, planning intelligently for our children to inherit a community that’s even more beautiful than the one we have now.
Create a Vibrant Business Environment
I will work closely with our small business community and our local industries to help them balance and support one another in nurturing a vibrant economy that provides quality jobs in Santa Clarita.
Preserve Our Historic Communities
Through sensitive planning, we will protect our historic communities and preserve vital natural resources as our valley changes.
Expand Community Centers, Parks and Recreation
We have a severe shortfall of park space. I will launch a community wide effort to develop a “Plan for Parks” that will significantly expand community centers and recreation opportunities in your neighborhood.
Develop Collaborations to Support Education, Arts, and Culture
Nobody and no organization can do it all on their own. Thoughtful collaboration among the city and its non-profits will benefit all citizens, and my work on the Arts Advisory Committee gives me the tools and relationships to get the job done.
