1. We have a severe deficit in affordable housing for our families and young professionals. Those people work at our schools, in our daycare centers, fight our fires, protect us, and work in our offices, shops and restaurants. They can’t live here because they’re priced out of our great city. They should not be left behind.
   

2. I’ll work to bring more affordable workforce housing to our city so the younger workers we need to keep our local economy strong have the ability to call Santa Clarita home.
   

3. And no, I don’t think a teacher in her late-20’s or early-30’s making $50,000 a year is going to bring headaches to our town just because they’d live in an affordable housing unit.
