1. When it comes to local housing issues in our city, the elderly, the disabled, and military veterans on fixed incomes are engulfed in a crisis. Rents are surpassing their income and there are just not enough affordable housing units to meet their needs. Soon, they’ll be living on the streets. And more will follow as our population ages.
   

2. I confounded the Save Our Seniors Committee to guide our city toward solutions to the senior housing crisis, and to galvanize public support to help these folks with housing until the city comes up with a plan to address this shortage.
   

3. I won’t leave our seniors behind. I’ll work to:
   

4. •Establish a Housing Authority;
   

5. •Create funding mechanisms for truly affordable housing; and
   

6. •Promote alternative housing methods including “granny flats,” shared, and communal housing.
